the longest winter ever....

Happy cinco de mayo.  It snowed a few days ago.  The last 6 of 7 fridays have been either snow filled or rain soaked.  Damn this minnesota weather is something else!

The semester is wrapping up, and since I haven't written in several months, I should probably make a quick run through.  Here it goes, it will be breif.

lawn jumping....

Whenever I say "long jumping", it sounds more like "lawn jumping".  I should work on that, and eliminate some confusion.

go big or go home.

Well....I did both.  I went BIG, and went to Tahoe City with Chris, Aaron, and Shannon... we stayed at this awesome ski cabin, right near Lake Tahoe (avg depth....1000 fucking feet!), and all was good.  I got some kick ass snowpants (that I'll probably find ugly by next year), we had some good beer, an awesome dinner...all was going well.  Until sunday....

city of nag champa

OMG.  This city reeks like Nag Champa.... and when it doesn't, it smells like Patchouli.  Fucking hippies.  And not old hippies...but this new age psuedo shit tourist-exploitaton.  Yuck.  Pardon my rant...I'm done now.

So...I've been spendning a lot of time walking around, and a lot of time in coffee shops.  It's nice.  I'm at the library closest to Chris' house right now.  It's small...kinda boring...but it's nice enough.  It's nice to sit somewhere and not have to keep buying coffee in order to save your seat.

sitting on the dock of the bay....

Greetings for San Francisco. I am here for the next week or two (?).

The semester (at the U of MN) finished last week, so I took the opportunity to get the hell out of minnesota. Woo! I finished the semester okay.... I got 3 A's, one -A (which I am pissed about), and one I (incomplete...but not for long). Overall, I'm pleased with the semester, what I learned, and how I finished it up.

church in saint paul.....

This isn't turning into a church review blog, I promise.

Yesterday I went to Unity Church, a Unitarian Church in the crocus hill area of St. Paul.  I used to go there when I was a little kid, for a while, but then we stopped going once they got a new preacher/pastor/speaker... The last time I was there was 2.5 years ago, at my grandparents funeral.

church in edina.....

Oh man.....the things you do for a cute girl, and a lil' spirituality in your life.

A week ago, I realized that I get all worked up on sunday's.... I mentioned this to a friend of mine, and she asked why that is.... being the smart ass that I am, I replied that "maybe I don't have enough jesus in my life".

jack's run

6 years ago, I ran CC for central high school. I smoked plenty of cigarettes, and spent most of my time wasted or hungover. The first race I ever ran was in Princeton Minnesota. I remeber showing up for the bus to get out there, and my burps smelled like booze. Not the best way to start your running career. I was running JV, because although I ran almost everyday after tennis or hockey practice, I still had my vices....and besides, I was different from most of the girls on the JV and Varsity squads.

illiteracy in not an accident

Typically, policy makers don’t define literacy as a source of empowerment.  After all, why would they?  Why would slave masters teach slaves to read and be free?  There’s a reason they don’t teach real history in K-12 schools in the United States.  There’s a reason why poor folks pay higher taxes and rich folks get tax cuts.
