sitting on the dock of the bay....

Greetings for San Francisco. I am here for the next week or two (?).

The semester (at the U of MN) finished last week, so I took the opportunity to get the hell out of minnesota. Woo! I finished the semester okay.... I got 3 A's, one -A (which I am pissed about), and one I (incomplete...but not for long). Overall, I'm pleased with the semester, what I learned, and how I finished it up.

Anyhow, as I said, I'm in San Fran. I'm staying (for now) with my buddy "safety chris one", who I know from New Orleans. He lives in this folks music co-op, in Cole Valley. There are a handful of people who live there....Hana from the check republic (mid-late 20's?), Bonnie (40's?), a few others who are out of town, and Faith (92 years old!). Faith use to be president of the folk co-op, and is no longer, but still remains active with them (as they jam at her house 2X a month). She's also the founder of the "Raging Grannies". I haven't gotten to talk to her too much, but I am excited to hit her up for her stories/knowledge. She's super bad ass... doesn't let anyone do things for her, cuz she can do them herself (damnit!).

Today I slept in, and then went walking around the haight/ashbury neighborhood. I'm now at some cafe, where I just mowed a strawberry/chocolate crepe. Yay! I'm gonna head to Kezar field shortly, and run some long jumping drills (wooo! look out now...). I also went to the goodwill today, and bought a sweater (cuz I was cold), and a couple of t-shirts (cuz I was cold), and a zip up (also....cold). I'm such a goodwill junkie... it's great.

I'd better bounce, so I can do these drills before it gets dark. Oh...xmas was yesterday, and I dined with Chris, Hana, Bonnie, Bonnie's brother, and Faith...it was nice. Good food, good booze, and no family bickering.

I'm hoping to meet up with some other folks I know in San Fran (safety chris two, zoe, baraka, adrienne, whit, morgan, evan, etc....). This weekend I think I'm going to Tahoe to some cabin that Chris has rented (with 14 other people). Should be nice!

It's nice to be out of minnesota. I got an e-mail this morning from the city of st paul, declaring a snow emergency. Good thing I'm in San Francisco...it's 60 degrees here, and no snow. Not even a little.
